While grammar and punctuation are a large and very important part of editing, scientific and medical documents have special requirements in needing to convey their highly technical information in a way that is clear, concise, flows easily and reads well. This can be a particularly difficult challenge for authors who are non-native English speakers.
Your document is unique and important to me. I utilize the track changes feature of MS Word for all my edits so you can see and approve any changes as well as use this information to improve your own English writing skills. If desired, I can provide a preliminary estimate for the cost of editing your document but please note that this is only an estimate based on a quick scan of your project. If there are substantial changes or revisions during the editing process or if I am able to complete the editing in less time, this estimate can go higher or lower. An invoice will be sent to you by email after the editing has been completed to your satisfaction. I accept payment via PayPal, wire transfer, or check.
I charge a flat rate of $55/hour whether it be simple or heavy editing because my speed can vary greatly, from 1-5 pages/hour, depending on many factors including number of mechanical errors, technical complexity and language issues. Accuracy of the references is the sole responsibility of the author. Obviously, I cannot guarantee the acceptance of your manuscript but I will work with you to ensure the correctness of your English and the readability of your document.
